Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Gille, Bcn

This version was compiled using wxWidgets-3.0.2 and opencpn.lib from 4.8.0
therefore it should work only with Opencpn v4.8.0 up to v4.8.6
It was complied for that purpose intentionally.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

I've just tested OcpnDraw 1.5 again in OpenCpn V4.8.4 and it works.
I have also tested, just compiled

Textplugin_pi1.0.8-win32_pi

as well.

I did not test DR 1.5 with O484. And I need stability in my installed version of O484. So, I do not know if this version works the plugin works with O484.

I install the "Textplugin" in O486. It seems that it run.

But right now, I do not know what it's for. I will have to document. I will go through the DR 1.5 thread. I guess I'll find some useful explanations.

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

OPCN Draw 1.5: I installed this version as the OCPN Draw 1.4 did not work on Windows 10. Now I have a question regarding layers. Where to put the rirectory layers to get permanent layers?, it's not the same library as OpenCPN and I tryed to move "Layers" in different libraries both data and programs. Any sugestions ?

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi,
ODraw is a plugin and has its own directories within the OCPN plugin directory library. The Layers directory is one of these. If you look in the OCPN log file where ODraw gets loaded you will see where the Layers directory for your install is. To get the OD layers auto loaded just put the 'gpx' files into this directory, the next time OCPN is started and OD is activated the layers will be loaded. They will be loaded hidden, so you will need to unhide them from the 'OCPN Draw Manager'/Layers tab.

I have just installed OD 1.4.70 into a parallel OCPN 4.8.6 on win 10 and it works OK for me. Can you look in the opencpn.log file and see if there are any issues mentioned in there?

Thanks

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

As you see in my logfile, I do get layers loaded, but thats layers to Rute & Mark Manager. But layers created for the OPenCPN Draw is not loaded and no errors visible in the log.

I guess that OCPN Draw is using the same layer directory as OCPN right?

I Attached the logfile and one of the layer file created by OCPN Draw.

Just removed the 1.5 beta release and reinstalled 1.4 which is now showing up and working except for the same problem with layers

Best regards
Benny

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi Benny,
There are no attachments to your post. Can you try again?

If you are using Win 10 and have done a standard install you should find the OD directories in "C:\ProgramData\opencpn\plugins\ocpn_draw_pi". If there is non "Layers" directory, create it and then put your OD Layer.gpx files in it. These will be auto loaded when OCPN is started.

Nice, "If you are using Win 10 and have done a standard install you should find the OD directories in "C:\ProgramData\opencpn\plugins\ocpn_draw_pi". If there is non "Layers" directory, create it and then put your OD Layer.gpx files in it. These will be auto loaded when OCPN is started.". For 1.4.70 that's working to have to layers library within the plugin library. Thanks, now it's working.

Best regards
Benny

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Jon, I think we need to clarify this in the manual. I am sorry if I misled anyone. Do you want me to do that addition to the manual?

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Hi Rick,
I have had an attempt to update the manual to say this. OD 1.5 now contains the directories in the 'Properties/About' tab, so it should be easy in future to see where things are stored.

Regards
Jon

Re: OCPN Draw 1.4 available

Jon has created a new Beta version which works only with OpenCPN 4.99. We need some skilled users to test this plugin out and report back, working towards a release.

ocpn_draw_pi-1.5.39-win32-Ov4.99.exe BETA
