O4 Smoke Test...

Hey folks...

O4 is built, and ready for limited testing before wide release.
The idea of this testing is to confirm the validity of the uploads, and to test initial install process with the actual article. We are not at this point interested in previously documented bugs or Feature Requests.

I have placed Windows and Mac installers on a Dropbox account here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0hw0ansbwd...setup.exe?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ny1di8rc8z...4.0.0.dmg?dl=0

These images are golden masters. Assuming no problems, they will be removed at 1200 GMT Thursday, and then moved to the official sourceforge download location. Then the opencpn.org site will be edited to point to that spot. And thus O4 is released.

So close now...

Good luck
Dave

Re: O4 Smoke Test...

Hi all...
The beta PPA on launchpad is building the 4.0.0 candidate packages, if no critical objections are received, they will be copied to the stable one at the aforementioned moment.

Have fun

Pavel

Re: O4 Smoke Test...

Hello Dave Hello everyone,

ASUS EeePC 1015H, 10 ', W 7 Starter, french keyboard. O 4.0.0

I installed this version without problems and made a few brief tests, including the Grib plugin, without encountering any difficulty.

The die is cast.

B.R Gilletarom.

Re: O4 Smoke Test...

As mentioned before already the Mac version has still problems showing the Chart-Info-Window with both OpenGL on or off.

Re: O4 Smoke Test...

OpenCPN version 4.0 is running great on my small ARM BananaPi system.

No smoke signals to be seen.

This small "nano" board, with accelerated graphics from a Mali GPU, works very well with Lubuntu and this excellent piece of software. It is a pity I cannot test it on board, because of the winter lay-up.

Thanks for all the efforts of the O-team,

Bram

Re: O4 Smoke Test...

4.0 as of 0700 utc installs fine on Vista 32bits with ObjSearch 0.5 and Climatology 1.0.

Climatology shows currents and cyclones, but no wind(barbs).
Both parallel and portable install.

The bells work fine... thanks, Dave!

O 4.0 : Yes, + and -, = Z+ and Z- Theese two shortcuts works fine. And this, with OpenGL On and OpenGL OFF.

OK with W 8.1 "français" but some problem with the Climatology Plug-in.
I don't remenber having seen all these blue arrrows in previous versions.
Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, it doesn't really matter for now.
Wonderful software

Re: O4 Smoke Test...

(whine) I still think "Advance Wpt On Arrival" should be ON as default. (Toolbox/Ships tab)
A brand new install on a heretofore-languishing XP machine (extracting from the downloaded exe as a portable) had it off. I am not a route guy but it seems wrong for a new user.

But, O's looking great after her time at the spa!
