This is excellent! One of OCPN's major drawbacks is fxed.
Only short test so far but seems to work as it should.

+1 for a way to use this plugin on Linux. I have NV-Charts too and would love to be able to use them on my onboard machine.

This plugin really opens OpenCPN up to a lot of sailors in the baltic. Great addition.

OCPN is really good and when a solution comes for Linux I'll definitely order charts from NV Verlag.
I use an Acer Aspire One that I've had some general problems with(slow and chrashing) when running under XP even after some tweaking. But with Ubuntu 11.04 it runs like a charm.

Any solution that supports encrypted charts is great and for me personally I prefer Linux fas on board system.

Hi there....

I have uploaded a new version (1.1) of the nv-charts Plugin (Windows) for OpenCPN.

There are no functional changes. Some changes in text strings to properly reflect the source of the charts and encryption algorithms. Also, the download comes as a Windows .dll, so no need to rename from .doc as the Forum download previously required.

Now, NV-Verlag has expanded its catalog with the maps of the French publisher Navicarte.
If these cards are also open by the plug-in, then we will finally have the latest maps and regularly updated by OpenCPN viewable without having to obtain such cards CM93.

2°)
If this plug-in is "Ok", why not translate it in other language ?

I remain available to do the translation into French.

Plugin should work for any registered .EAP charts available on the system.

I hope you have a chance to try and test the French charts you have mentioned.

French Translation: It is planned to translate the nvc PlugIn, as was done for other PlugIns and OCPN as a whole. Just not done yet.... Thanks for your offer of help

Hello,
I'm new to opencpn and found this nice forum where my chartset (NV-Verlag) is mentioned to use with opencpn.

But........ I use Linux (Ubuntu) and the Plugin is only for Win.

Is there a realistic chance to get this up and running with wine in Ubuntu?
