"not a valid Win32 application" - Win2000 - Ver 2.6.1310

I have been using Ver 2.5 successfully on Win2000, however, although Ver 2.6 appears to install successfully at the final "Finish" with Run clicked the window hangs up. Attempting to run from the Deskotp icon gives "...not a valid Win32 application..."

I am trying a Parallel installation to 2.5 although on my first attempt I did an overwrite saving Config settings. 2.5 re-installed ok. I am able to Uninstall 2.6.

The install log has as its last line creating an Uninstall. There is no opencpn log for 2.6 that I could find.

I have tried installing several times and with a new download. I have run
Windows2000-KB891861-v2-x86-ENU.EXE and vcredist_x86.exe.

Your help appreciated

Thanks
John

Re: "not a valid Win32 application" - Win2000 - Ver 2.6.1310

John...
We switched to a newer version of the toolchain while building the 2.6 version, which does not support Windows 9x/2000 anymore.
Generally there's nothing in the code that changed in a way that should prevent us from using the old VS 2008 to build, so I might try to build a version that runs on Win 2000 if the demand is high enough...
