No plugins or chart downloader tab

I had an older version of CPN and there was no plugins listed under the plugin icon or no chart downloader tab under charts. The version was a version in the mid 3s....should have wrote it down I guess, but I updated to 4.8 and still no tab for chart downloader and nothing under plugins.

I downloaded plugins from 4.2 and up and I can see them in the plugin folder, but they do not show up when I click on plugins, just an empty box.

I removed the program and reinstalled and still no plugins listed or chart downloader tab.....can anyone help?

I used this program several years ago and loved it, and now trying to get back into learning how to use it. Also wondering if you can use CPN to run an Ray ST 1000+ auto pilot???

You probably have some old plugins left over from long ago. If you can delete every file and folder from the plugins folder. Reinstall 4.8 and it will probably work for you.

Remember that what you download are plugin installation programs. Run them to install the plugin.
