Newby - Why do some plugins not work - greyed out?

Hi,

I have been using opencpn all the way across the Pacific & Indian Ocean. I'm now trying to get the weather routing to work along with some other plugins. They are greyed out. Why & how do I get them to work? I am not a programmer but get by.

The other plugins that are greyed are:
weatherfax, squidio, polar, ocpn draw, google earth, climatology & Celestial Nav.

Any help appreciated.

Chris

Been years since I used the grib support. I used to send a request for data to a data supplier. I think I had to put the data into a grib data folder in the opencpn folder. This triggered the grib plugin to operate. Things might have changed. Have you read the manual about using grib files?

Many thanks for the comments. I did not see because the plugin window opens by default only showing the left hand 2/3rds of the screen. Once I expanded the screen I could see the enable button.

Very simple but without knowing there was an enable buttton a showstopper.

Thanks again,

Chris

This hidden "enable" should be fixed, not very user friendly on most display sizes.

Yes, Chris this really does need to be fixed/improved and I agree with you wholeheartedly. Would you mind registering in Tracker and then taking a moment to put a Bug report under Opencpn 4.5.0 Project or under Feature Requests and I will move it? Thanks so much!

setting sail for South Africa this morning from Reunion. So I'll be off the net for 10 days. I'll get to it in a couple of weeks. Cheers
