Is there a simple way to share waypoints, routes (and any ohter "user generated data") between them?
I looked into the information about portable installation
but this does not seem to address the issue of these files (on W7 they are under the ProgramData directory and under XP I cannot find them).
I do this all the time and it is a simple procedure.
Under My Documents I create a folder 'A Navigation'. I use the A in front to make sure the folder is always at the time of the My Documents folder.
In that folder I create three sub-folders: Anchorages
, Routes, and Tracks.
For each of these I use the Route Manager to export to the appropriate folder.
As I save anchorages
and tracks, I precede the .gpx file with the date and short description. Routes are saved by area, short description, etc.
This folder, 'A Navigation', is easily transported between computers
, sent via email
A fourth folder, Miscellaneous, is useful for saving annotations on the chart such as current
directions, significant events
, etc. which have been created as waypoints.
