I have a folder C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins

Thank you for a through view. Others may have thoughts/questions too.
1. Good that it installed correctly and found your charts and uses your routes.
2. You don't mention what version you updated from. Often upgrading O requires upgrade of all the plugins. That maybe your case. I would simply download new plugins, uninstall the old ones using the uninstall programs for each plugin, (found under programfiles x86/ opencpn directory, then install the plugins as directed in the wiki.)
