Marine map source of Norway from Kystverket

Norwegian Kystverket.no offer a variety of maps of Norway in many formats, including Marine and CM93,easily converted to .KAP using GE2KAP.

Also readable by OpenCPN and route planner qtVLM.

I do not speak norvegian. Can you explain more what link into these website to see these charts ? And, in the english version ????

Hi.. Very easy,it´s all in English...

Finally,you select required map size and move the selection frame to select area,then click create map,download, and you will have 3 files which you put in GE2KAP (make a sub-dir. ´Kystverket´) Select this directory in GE2KAP and Voilá the .kap map is created.

NOTE. The nautical maps are skewed ca. 6º, so adjust the selection frame accordingly.
The CM93 maps are really raster maps but they have correct alignment.

To change to English go to loggin (upper right panel). There you can select English with out a Log-in. (Was searching some time as well...)

I doubt. It might be possible by manipulating / constructing the request in the URL, but that's another story.

Really, they are releasing all information in the s63 Norwegian charts from this site (+ al lot of additional info/possibilities), but they are adding complexity through the web interface. There should now not bee any reason any more not to publish the full ENC's for Norwegian areas for free. We will need to push them hard.

we would help with our background of dealing with the different HO's in the context of S-63 and having discussed the issues with them to push this along.

The big Norwegian OCPN user community shall have voices to make you all be heard.
