Looking for GPX Files for Testing

Hi,

I'm looking for some GPX files (exported from OCPN) to do some testing.
Espacially some track files.

It would be very nice if someone could upload some files, please.

Gunther,

I looked at the real tracks I have and they are all very large (>.5 MB).

Since you want to test, I assume you have OCPN running. You can produce a track by switching the track feature on with, say trackpoints every mile or so, and move the ship by right-clicking and selecting Move Boat Here.

You will have a track, that is exportable and viewable.

Cheers,

Piotr

Thank you very much for the tip!

It works very well.
Must have been to easy in my thoughts so I didn't try this.

Here comes a real track 2000nmi

Gunther,

If you want a real track, perhaps this will do. This is the trail of Tall Ships Races 2009 Baltic.
I collected it with MaxSea Logbook and converted to GPX.

Some points worth noting:

- accuracy of charts differ here and there....
- I think OCPN does not see track segments. A track is always contiguous, but not so in reality. If tracking is off for a watch or two (or a week), you get straight line across some islands...

It is worth putting some effort in tracks, I think.

Cheers,

Piotr
