Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Mike, sounds good. Why not ask Kathi to make the link change? Also make a PR to Peter Tulp's repository?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi,
I have created a 'Pull Request' against 'https://github.com/delatbabel/LogbookKonni-1.2' to upgrade to wxWidgets 3.1.2 which is needed for O5. I am hoping that this is the correct repository to work against, but it appears that there are a few forks in progress, so if this is wrong one can you let me know.

Thanks
Jon

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi,
Have just created a patch to work with AIS as the source of GPS information. The Digital Yacht AIT1000 does not provide the number of satellites in any of its sentences. It does provide the RMC sentence which does the time of last fix. The change uses this rather than the number of satellites to get the Lat/Lon. This then fixes an issue with multiple lines appearing in the log when a waypoint is reached.

Regards
Jon

Jon ...

I also intend using delatbabel's fork to send a pull request for the stuff I have done on NM/m/km. Hope delatbabel will be the master source.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

I wonder if we shouldn't encourage some programmer to peel the logbook-pi out of Ocpn and make it instead of an dll a seperate exe file. All NMEA's could be received from Ocpn but advantage would be that the Logbook.exe could then (also) on another platform (e.g. Android) and we could have it accessible directly at the helm etc.

Dont know how much effort that would be - unfortunatly I am not a programmer.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi,
I have a problem because the time stamp on manual entries do not match the time stamp on automatc entries.

Sorry if i bother you.
But i'm lost with this new forks of LogBookKonni.
Did your fork (logbookkonni_pi-ov50-1.4006-win32.exe ) integrate the release of Ptulp here : https://github.com/rgleason/LogbookKonni_pi/releases (logbookkonni_pi-1.3006-win32) ?

Schnapsy ...

I am using delatbabel as the master and sending pull requests there. The ptulp commits are in the Rasbats fork, and this fork is up to date with the delatbabel master.

Perhaps in the settings of LogBook, you have declared UTC time ?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Community,

my System is Ubuntu 18.04, upgraded recently to opencpn 5.0.0: Trying to install opencpn-plugin-logbookkonni I get the message "package ... not found".

Does a logbookkonni version not exist yet for opencpn 5.0.0?

Thank you for your help!

Best wishes from Austria

I was working with Baikal and put this version (1.4.3006) alongside the version without the additions (1.3.3006) to provide an upload for him.

Unfortunately Dave has now linked to the 1.4 version on opencpn.org! If there are no objections intend pushing this version to GitHub and making a new release ... 1.4.3006. A new link will then be needed. Windows is ok but still some work to do on the icons and for other OS.

Mike, what is the location of your fork? I would like try this. First need to build the macOS version for OpenCPN 5.0 I guess. I would like to pick the most recent/maintained fork and not sure which one it is (is it this: https://github.com/delatbabel/LogbookKonni-1.2? I see you pushed a commit 17 days ago)

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Mike (rasbats) repository is the one we have been using for ov50, because he added the necessary updates. Peter (tulp)'s repository is a fork of off delatbel, and they were both maintaining and improving it (also for mac). Peter took over and is a collaborator on delatbel's repository and updates and merges it. Peter has been busy lately, so rasbats is maintaining it right now and doing releases.

If there is a problem with the link, Mike will advise k.to fix it.

Thanks.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Tenedos ...

I suggest using delatbabel as the main code source:

https://github.com/delatbabel/LogbookKonni-1.2

My fork is in synch with delatbabel. I am doing Windows releases from my fork. Suggest we use delatbabel as the ultimate source, to avoid confusion. Ptulp is doing a great job implementing pull requests for delatbabel from other forks.
