Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello MikePeter,

clean your plugins folder if you downloaded plugins for 3.0, except the dashboard and the grib.
Maybe this helps.

if it don't work, i would uninstall 2.3.1 and upgrade to OpenCPN 3.0.2.
if 3.0.2 shows the same behavoir. post your opencpn.ini as attached file
(rename ini to doc)

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Good I look forward to trying it.

In the meantime there is a problem with your CSV output, the data fields after the 15th field do not agree with the title of the fields. Attached is a screenshot of the Meto fields and also the CSV file produced. I have added the field number over the Field titles and the field data so you can see that at fields don't match for fields 16,17 18. Their data actual appears in fields 34, 35, 36.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Paul,

1.192 is up on sourceforge.

CVS, XML-export is corrected
the windows IE should come up now
kml-export is available with the export-button.

KML
-----
at the moment there must be a unique name for the track (not the default date OpenCPN sets)
and the trackname must exactly match the string you entered in the column 'Route' in the logbook.
If the track is not found, the logbook-entries are shown only.

I have only one track (Gilletarom was so friendly), so when it crashes,
please send me your gpx-file, if it's not too private.

best regards,
konni

If you haven't done so, disconnect all devices, except mouse and keyboard, display.
Try to start OpenCPN.

The files you can send are:
C:\ProgramData\opencpn\opencpn.log
C:\ProgramData\opencpn\opencpn.ini
copy these two files at a temp-folder and rename them to
C:\ProgramData\opencpn\opencpn.log.doc
C:\ProgramData\opencpn\opencpn.ini.doc
Then you can upload the files as attachments in the sourceforge-editor
(the button is in the first row - right next to the smilies-button-, when you write a post)

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

konni,

I downloaded and installed V1.192 . I ran my simulator, created some log entries and then exported the track as "Up The Puguet.gpx" When I exported the log entries as a KML it produced the attached Up The Puguet.kml but there was no track data. It invoked GE and display the entries.

I also exported as a csv "Up The Puguet.csv" and ran my program and the kml file for it is attached too: GDAYII_Track_2012_10_17_132241Z_to_2012_10_17_1340 04Z.kml it has track and log entries.

All the files were in the same directory.
Attached Files
File Type: gpx Up The Puguet.gpx (4.0 KB, 91 views)
File Type: kml Up The Puguet.kml (3.0 KB, 61 views)
File Type: doc Up The Puguet.csv.doc (3.1 KB, 60 views)
File Type: kml GDAYII_Track_2012_10_17_132241Z_to_2012_10_17_134004Z.kml (4.7 KB, 49 views)

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Paul,

you didn't rename your Track to 'Up to Pudget'.
I can display your track (i made one logbook-entry, only) - see image-.
The Route in the logbook and the trackname must match.

this is not the final solution. i install a dialog by rightclick in the
column 'Route' to select tracks as well and store the guiid in the
logbook datafile. Then we'll have the right information.

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Konni,

My laptop run out of battery power and shut down while OPENCpn and your logbook were running.

When I restarted it the last few lines of the logbook were missing, I assume the logbook saves the new info when OCPN is shut properly.

If I am correct, then there could be two fixes:
  1. Add a button "Save Now" or "Backup Now" to the logbook
  2. or make the logbook automatically save every new entry.

i hope i can fix this 'till thuesday next week (my operation day) but
i don't know how long it takes to recover.

There's nothing wrong with you os.
The folder (ProgramData) is hidden and the files don't show a prefix (like .ini or .log)
Did you follow the link JasperWe gave you ?
If you still can't find the files i'll post some images how to do this.

konni, actual the name in the route was "Up The Puguet" which you can see in the "Up The Puguet.csv.doc" in my previous post and the name of the track was saved as "Up The Puguet.gpx" so the route name is the same as the track file name.

But anyway forget that for now we'll see what you come up with next.

BTW: sooner or later someone is going to ask to also export a GPX file that also has the track and logbook information. My program does that now. So you could endup with an exported file that has the same name as the saved track name.

Also, not sure if you got my point about the UTC offset. You still only have +- hours. You should have another pulldown to select 1/4 hours so it would have "00, .25, .50 .75".

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Phiggins,

i'm a patient guy, but i don't like to go on.

in the past post you made a lot of alarm about incorrect behavoir of
the date/time in the logbook for nothing:
Quote:
I decided to add an option to ignore the time on my program because my problem with the time only occurs when I run my simulator
Now you send this:
Quote:
actual the name in the route was "Up The Puguet" which you can see in the "Up The Puguet.csv.doc" in my previous post and the name of the track was saved as "Up The Puguet.gpx" so the route name is the same as the track file name.
The file in your post #473 doesn't have a <name> sektion in xml:
<trk>
<extensions>
<opencpn:start></opencpn:start>
<opencpn:end></opencpn:end>
<opencpn:viz>1</opencpn:viz>
<opencpn:guid>03ab0000-064c-48a2-9ed3-601e2a330000</opencpn:guid>
</extensions>

when you import it into Opencpn-routemanager it cannot have a trackname. I also added images to show how it works.. (post #475)
if you ignore that please don't post such things.

Maybe it depends on my english, but this sounds very strange to me.

Quote:
BTW: My program does that now.
... and my has a secret button for a cold beer. Go on and write a logbook

i do what i think it's ok. Here's a short example:
