Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi Konni,

Everything works, FANTASTIC!

I just got a few warnings but no errors. When I go into logbook preferences, I can't see the 'Install' buttons (I have a small screen). Would it be possible to have a scroll bar so that the contents of the dialogue box can be scrolled ?

Anyway, you can now say that beta OpenCPN 2.6.1624 and your 0.918 logbook compile and work on Fedora Linux. That's great news for me and probably many others. Thank you for getting it working

best regards
Claudio

Thumbs up Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi, I have just installed ( ver. 0_918 on 2.6.1705 win7 64), it works and looks fantastic! Thank you.
I have some suggestions in polish version :
1. Fuel and water is only in gal, we need liter
2. in engine/sails you should use " Woda" instead of " Temp. wody"
3. Watch system : I use f.E 4 hours from 00:00 to 12:00, then 2 hours 12:00 to 16:00 and then 4 hours again. Is it realistic to make such watch system as an option?
4. Yacht in section Yacht: you use "Nazwisko" should be " Nazwa"

But great job!!!!!

BtW : if you find my suggestions usefull I'am at your service

  1. to use liter instead of gal go to
    toolbar/options/plugins/logbook/preferences/abbreviations
look for fuel/water capacity and fill in 'l'
  2. 1, 3 and 4. i change this in in the polish translation
  3. the only option by now is not to use the automatic dialog.
fill in the data by hand, the plugin uses this data.
give me a bit time to think about a solution for you idea.
i hope it helps a bit. i'm not at home for the weekend, so the
corrections of the translation will be available on monday.
i'll post it here.

thank's for reply.

Engines

Hi Konni,
thank you for the great plugin!

I have two engines in my cat ....
Any chance you can add the option to choose two engines?

Also, I normally read the engine hours and jot them down, then I can subtract the new reading from the old to find out how many hours I run the engines in a trip.
I would find it more useful if I could do the same in your notebook:
record the total hours run and the program calculates the hours used in the last trip.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi Konni,
the only other things I record are:
  1. Water
  2. Fuel
  3. Amp Hours (A/Ah)
For water and fuel, ince the reading comes from the analog gauges, I just write "1/2" or "1/2+" or 3/4--" depending on my judgement of the quantity.

For the A/Ah I have a battery management instrument that tells me how many A/Ah I have taken from the battery bank so it will say "-88Ah" or "-195Ah" or it can say the % of charge in the bank.

Of course other people might record other details, so please join in...

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Konni,

This day I try the last V918 for LogBook.

And I have add the new items in the french language file.

But I did not test some items. I do not understand in what situations they occur. So the translation is probably bad.
I will send my file to EdelVoilier for its advice.

Furthermore, testing the column "OnBoard" tab "Crew", I can not put anything other than "Yes" (Yes). Why it is not possible, to have "No" (No)?

I do not understand what is currently the colum "OnBoard".

Best regards

Gilletarom.
