Hello CeesH,

thanks for the offer to translate.
Giiletarom/Edelvoiler are the translators for french, so they can give you a
helping hand in case you stuck.

Here are the pot.files (ver 0.914 / 0.5 FindIt) you need. It's easier than to download the hole sourcecode.
please rename (after downloading) the .doc to zip
and follow the instructions by Gilletarom for Poedit.

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Konni,

All is working fine now. I uninstalled and re-installed as Gilletarom suggested, and all problems have resolved.
I'll be going out for a week trip, and will give it a proper workout.
Thanks again.

Regards

Mario

Greetings Edelvoilier,

Try - actual, on-hand, on account, real

Quota- What you want to have stocked
Actuell- What you really have in stock
Balance- What you need to buy to meet quota.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Konni,

I begin to understand the functioning of two plug-ins. It's complicated but it's well done.

Trying to use FindIt, I see that if stock is placed in FindIt and then if we click on the button "Buy it", the result appear in logbook. This is Ok. But, in the colum "Categories" and "Text, the result is not translated. You use the english items instead of french items. I think that is same with other language. See join screen copy

"Preferences" of findIt :
Sorry but the window is not large enough for french language. This is due to french language where the words and texts are generally more long that in english.

Can ou enlarge this window. See join screen copy

Unit used in logbook.
You use only "Gallon" as unit of volume. But this is not a unit used in France and in many other country. By example, in France, we use "Liter".

Can you give us the choice of the unit?

Unit used in logbook
You use only "F" as Farhenheit as unit of heat. This is an english unit. Here in France, and in many other country, we use °C as degree celsius

Can you give us the choice of the unit?

Thank by advance.

Gilletarom.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Gilletarom,

No.1 and No.2 are fixed in ver. 0.915. the source is up on github.

No.3:
if you translate gal with Gal in french, you'll see always Gal in french.
(at first install)

No.4:
Even the same. if you don't translate the "F" to "C".

Quote:
Can you give us the choice of the unit?
A user always have the choice to alter the abbreviations in options.

fill in for "Gal" e.g. "elephants" and look what happens when you change the amount of fuel in the logbook.

In France, we say : "I quickly understand but you have to explain to me a long time. ".

I see that these items are not really items of file language and that they are in the opencpn.ini file.

So, I understand better the functioning of the Preferences window.

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Greetings Konni,

I used the logbook for a week trip and glad to report no major problems.
I do have several questions;
1. Please explain the purpose of 'sign'
2. Is there a difference in function between 'export' and 'view' ?
either will only generate an html file.
3.In FindIt what was your thought for the number of location columns?
an item stored in six different locations on the boat?

Again all worked well, only thing left is to tweak headings and print outs to my personal needs.
Thank you for your efforts.

Regards,

Mario

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi Konni

I have updated the danish po files to version 0.915.
Furthermore i have translated FindIt version 0.5 to danish.

I have mailed the two po files to you.

I have however noticed some problems with both plugins. It may have something to do with my system, since i am using linux, and no one else seems to have these problems according to the forum.

1. The Icon for the logbook plugin is not showing. Instead it shows another icon, looking as a normal text file. This used to be OK for me, but after installing FindIt, I now have two similar icons for the two plugins. The only difference is the text on mouseover.

2. In the FindIt plugin, I do not get the option to buy things, set quotas etc.. This function depends, as far as I can read from the forum, on whether the logbook is installed or not. The logbook is of course installed on my system.

Both plugins are compiled from source on my system.

I hope you will be able to help me.

Regards
Keneu

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello,

at one a big thank's to the translarors Keneu, Edelvoiler and Gilletaromfor their work.
I'll upload today or tomorrow ver. 0.915 with the translations.

As Keneu has posted the plugin FindIt has the same icon as the logbook.
i've tried to create one, but i'am not a artist (it looks like a child has done the job).

Can somebody create a nice icon for FindIt?

Keneu also found a bug in Logbook/Findit.
When the logbook is installed/activated and Findit is installed first time,
some Columns a not shown (as logbook is not installed).
this is fixed in 0.915. for a workaround you can deactivate the logbook and then activate the logbook in options.

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Mario,

thank's for reply.

here are the answers to your questions:
Quote:
1. Please explain the purpose of 'sign'
if the boat moves >= 0.1 nm the plugin fills sign with 'S'.
the 'S' is used to add speed and distance in >= ver. 0.915 in the
tab overview correct. if you don't need the overview-tab leave it blank
or fill in what ever you like.
e.g A for anchor
M for Mooring
and so on....
Also new in 0.915 is for the "old" logbooks. the 'S' is filled in at loading when the distance is > 0. But only if sign was empty before.
i don't overwrite the sign.
Quote:
2. Is there a difference in function between 'export' and 'view' ?
yes
view creates html/odt only and displays it.
export creates also html/odt (and uses the selected layout). if you need the data in xml,ods or csv for another program you can store it.
you can make also a backup of the logbook e.g for your computer at home.
the data can stored at a different place e.g usb-stick.
Quote:
either will only generate an html file.
select the radiobutton "ODT", click export and it exports in odt-format
with the selected odt-layout.
Quote:
3.In FindIt what was your thought for the number of location columns?
an item stored in six different locations on the boat?
you don't need to fill all the locations. it's up to you, how you organize it.
e.g. you can use 1 location only =
"stbd-bunk/salon/leftside/green box
or
use 5 Locations like
Starbord | Salon | Bunk | left side| green box

for me the second works better.

i've uploaded the ver. 0.915 here
FindIt 0.6 has nothing new, only the bug, when FindIt was installed after
the logbook, it hides some columns (like the logbook was not installed)

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello,

the new features of the logbook are:

in logbooks <= 0.910 inserts 'S' in column Sign at loading data.
speed and distance should be correct now in old olgbooks.

in logbook, overview and crewlist/watchlist you can hide a column with a
doubleclick in the column-header.

in crewlist (but not in watchlist) and maintenance you can sort the rows
with a single(normal)-click.

in logbook/weather/clouds you can select in the rightclick-menu the
clouds by picture. (wxwidgets has a bug in 2.8.12 and shows only the
half image). layouts in html and odt are added (ending with clouds).

the layouts are extended with the columns for e.g. Hydrometer

download it here

best regards,
konni
