Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Konni,

Ok, your soft is well work !

That said, there is something that worries me. SethDart has already made a plugin that displays two icons (VDR). Here are two other plug-ins. Two icons more ... and to show all kinds of cards, I will soon have several plug-in enabled ... so several other icons .. And so on ....

It's getting a lot of icons ...

The more icons in the icon bar, the more OpenCPN is difficult to use.

Without questioning the merits of this work, is it really necessary to make two different plugins?

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Greetings Gilletarom,

Glad you found where we were. I had a similar crash on the logbook but have not been able to replicate. Also a log from early january does not compute my average speeds, every entry has a kt value but overview has o for max and average ??

Your idea of integrating both plugins has merit. On the other hand just shut off what you are not using. if you run out of space for icons then who is driving the boat??

Regards,

Mario

the last post was a announce only, the new ver. 0.4 FindIt is uploaded now.
It has now a options-dialog, the crash is fixed (hopefully) and the
amounts are updated on loading.

i hope it suits better now.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Konni,

Second test:

1 ° On the FindIt:
In the first test of version 04, I had installed the version 04 directly without uninstalling version 03 of FindIt.

But strangely, the file findit_pidll was dated 10/02. Which explained that the crash was continuing to take place.

I then uninstalled the FindIt with the uninstal software. And I re-installed the 04 FindIt.

This time, the file findit_pi.dll is dated 12/02 and I did not crash I had obtained in the first trial.

2 ° On the logbook:
Who are in doubt, I started the same test with the logbook.

I uninstalled the logbook with the uninstaller. He announced that the 911 version of the logbook was uninstalled .....
Then I reinstalled the logbook.

3 Mode of installation:
These two experiments show that how to install both plug-in is important.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Pascal,

i corrected the bug gilletarom posted in ver. 0.5 (FindIt).
Sorting of only one line is not allowed.
A dropdown-box for priority is added, the button *Buy It" and the columns "Buy", "Prioriity", "Quota" and "Balance"
are hidden when the logbook is not activated.

to interact with the logbook, please use >= ver. 0.914.

add a line
select in "Priority" e.g. 3,
fill in "Quota" 2 and "Actuell" 1.
"Balance" shows now 1 and the "Buy"-Column shows "Yes".
Select a Unit, which you have added before in the Tab "Units" e.g Box
fill in some Text in "Text" e.g. Screws 10x40
now hit the button "Buy It"
That's it.
the logbook pops up and shows "1 Box Screws 10x40" with priority 3

i start writing a little wiki with images. when it's ready i'll post it here

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Konni,

I read your answer to the post of EdelVoilier (Pascal). I have the latest version of the logbook (this afternoon) and version 0.5 of FindIt.

I no longer crash.

I begin to understand a little of the whole operation. It's complicated.

If you write a help, it will be good. It would be nice to this assistance as an html file. It would be nice to put a help button to open this help directly. We could translate it and it would be practical.

With Pascal, we worked on the french language file and we have seen much change in the actual operation of the logbook. We still have some issues to resolve. we will post soon.

We also found the pot file of FindIt and we started to make a french language file for FindIt. It works fine. He too will be online soon.

But I return to the question Pascal asked in his previous post. It concerns the "Maintenance"/Action" of the logbook. Like Pascal, I do not understand the role of columns 3, 4, 5 and 6, "If", "Alarm value", "Urgent value" and "Initial value"?
Moreover, in column No. 1, "Priority", it is not possible to choose the level. is this normal? See screen copy

Thank you for reading this long post. We await your last explanation.

Best regards

Gilletarom

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Greetings Konni,

Tested find-it and works very well. Did not crash and all functions performed as expected. Great job, thank you.
The only problem I am left with is using the export function, and has nothing to do with program. When the html file is generated the list of items to buy appear all in one line. I know there is an edit function for the templates that I try but failed miserably. Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

As for the logbook, it all appears to be working fine exept as stated above, where you can not set a priority to service items.
I used a log generated by logbook10 that does not show me average nor max speed. I do not know if this is an error on the program or the way data was generated by previous versions.

Again thank you for a fine program and sharing with us.

Regards,

Mario

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Konni,

Just out of curiosity why do you need, under prefferences logbook, a path to mail client?
I ask because when I use the view function a file is generated and placed in logbook data folder. At one time I remember when you use view, browser displayed content, or am I mistaken?
As before I think this is more of user issue than program fault.

Regards,

Mario

the items are sorted by priority only. if you have set a priority of e.g 1
(urgent) for all items the result will be one line only.

i made a smal video to show how it works.

the logbook uses now the "SIGN"-column to count the speed.
A 'S' is set now by the plugin, if the boat moves > 0.1 NM.
to show the speed in overwiew from a "older" logbook please set the
'S' in the "SIGN"-Column. Sorry.

the mailclient is used when you click the "E"-Button and select "Send
Layout by email" in case you have created your own layout and send it to a friend.

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Konni, thanks for this super Plug-In.

As a native dutch speaker i would invest my time in translating the text files into the dutch language.

Can you or somebody else give a little explanation on how to do this and where to find the support files.

Regards,
CeesH

For the plug-in FindIt:

First download the sofware poedit. It is here :
Poedit: Download

Second Download the pot file. For this, go here :
https://github.com/konnibe/FindIt_pi

Towards the top left, there was "Zip".
Click this button to download the complete source code.
Unzip this file.
Open the software Poedit
Create a new file language using the catalog "findit_pi.pot".
Made the translation
Save with the name "opencpn-findit_pi.po" in :
"share / locale / nl / LC_MESSAGE /
of the installation folder of OpenCPN 260-1310.
The ".po" file will be created
The ".mo" file will also be automatically generated.

For the plug-in Logbook :
And, so for the other plugin logbook. For this plugin, goto here:
https://github.com/konnibe/LogbookKonni/tree/master/po.

I hope I have explained correctly
