Loading Charts on MAC

I have downloaded OpenCPN to my MAC Book and when I download the charts they are in a zip folder and I can't unzip them. I cannot seem to get any charts into the OpenCPN.

Re: Loading Charts on MAC

You have to unzip the charts to your disk. Until you do so, you can't use them. Can you explain what prevents you from doing so? Some error message you get?

Re: Loading Charts on MAC

No error. It just opens a little window with a few options at the top. When I click the far right one that says PAR2 it opens puts 7 more folders that need to be unzipped onto my desktop.

Fishigan...
Not having a Mac, I can hardly say what are "few options" and "the one far right". Less I can help you not knowing what you downloaded from NOAA.
I'm not aware of any archive with charts distributed by NOAA which wouldn't have just ENC_ROOT / BSB_ROOT top level folder in it though.
Maybe watching https://vimeo.com/61686997 could help you get where you need. No OS X but what you need to do is exactly the same.

Re: Loading Charts on MAC

Mark your *.zip file in Finder, make a right-click to open context menu and choose "Open With" --> "Archive Utility". That's all.

Re: Loading Charts on MAC

The video Nohal posted does the trick. When I was on the OpenCPN site I was clicking on the Pilot Charts under downloads. This is what was giving me the Zip files cannot open. I followed the video tutorial and viola I have charts. Thanks for the help.
