My Turkish sucks, but maybe you understand what it says. The result is apparently that the plugin can't be loaded. Are you sure you have the dll from http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post922248 ?

Hi Pavel,

I tested with the plugin of #64 at the link you gave again and got the same eror code.
Translation from Turkish is (error 14001: the application failed to start due to the side by side configuration is incorrect. For more information, please see the application event log, or command-line tool sxstrace.exe.) of which I can not understand in Turkish so in English since I know nothing on software or on any engineering.

I installed OpenCPN 2.6.1729,

- then libexpat .dll + zlib1.dll into the root (C:\Program Files\OpenCPN) and
- kmloverlay_pi.dll into the plugin folder (C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins)

I see nothing at the menu bar when I run OCPN.

I notice your libexpat.dll has a space between the ´t´ and .dll
Please check that your entry does NOT have this space.

I knew, it was the time to change the number of my glasses for sometimes
Then noticed the same mistake with kmloverlay-test_pi.dll file and tried again as follows:

İnstallation (a)
- libexpat.dll + zlib1.dll into the root (C:\Program Files\OpenCPN) and
- kmloverlay-test_pi.dll into the plugin folder (C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins)

Log: no error, worked

İnstallation (b)
- libexpat.dll + zlib1.dll into the root (C:\Program Files\OpenCPN) and
- kmloverlay_pi.dll into the plugin folder (C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins)

Log: error, NOT worked

Result: I may work with kmloverlay-test_pi.dll, but not kmloverlay_pi.dll

GE2KAP's new version with KMLOverlay is realy very powerful tool while working on POIs when planing the trip. If I had it before, I would not get the possible port's GE pictures, instead would create kmz files of the ports.

Been trying to compile this on Linux Ubuntu 64bit AMD without success - keep getting:

I have tried compiling as part of the main build and it just ignores it.

Hi,

You cannot compile plugins out of the main OpenCPN tree. It depends on some core files (include/ocpn_plugin.h) and some cmake variables defined in core OpenCPN.

Here's a recipe to build the plugin:
1. clone OpenCPN git
2. cd plugins/ and clone every plugins you want to have
3. cd ..
4. mkdir build
5. cd build
5bis. install any dependency required by OpenCPN or plugins until below command succeed.
6. cmake -DPREFIX=/usr ../
7. make
8. sudo make install (or make package)

For KMLOverlay plugin, step 2 is:
$ git clone http://github.com/SethDart/kmloverlay_pi

Then, to update KMLOverlay plugin you would run:
$ cd plugins/kmloverlay_pi/
$ git pull
