Installing plugins in a locally build OpenCPN

Hi,

another (maybe stupid) question.

System: Raspberry pi2 with the latest Jessie

I now was able to build a running Opencpn Version with a full base map (thanks @nohal

I have two systems with different OpenCPN versions:

1. My older System with installed the ready-bild packages from the repository. Running well but htere are some Problems with the grafic displayed e.g. when using the grib overlay

2. Now a version with a locally build OpenCPN. After I build it I made a package and installed this. So I got a Basic-opencpn without all the plugins from the System 1.

Now I try to get my System 2. like the System 1. So I installed the plugin-packages from the repo, and just copy the .opencpn folder with the config-files and so on from System 1 to System 2. But this was not not really sucessful. Just missing the plugins in the System 2.

What is the right way?

Thanks

Andreas

Re: Installing plugins in a locally build OpenCPN

Andreas...
Your locally built OpenCPN is installed in /usr/local by default. The packaged OpenCPN is installed in /usr.

You have to either set the installation prefix of your locally built OpenCPN to /usr or move the installed packaged plugins from /usr to /usr/local.

The former you do by reading and following the build instructions in the manual at https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...piling_linux&s[]=prefix#build_it

Do not forget to delete the version you have in /usr/local - it is first in the PATH and would be started if you tried to run it using "opencpn" command.
