Hello Carcode,

Your post means that the downloaded version I used might be "virussée". Why not. You say not by download from anywhere "? Does it mean that the thingie is a source from which you should never download version of plugins for OpenCPN?

Because the version I used comes from Thingie .... ???

Yes, never download from uncertain sources.
Actually we have in Germany each day 20,000 infected Windows computers by ransomware which encrypts all files of a computer and there is no antivirus software available which can prevent an infection. That means even a person like the owner of this thingie can be sure his files or server are not infected. So use only trusted sites.
Second the owner of thingie is not a programer or developer. He has often problems to compile anything. So it might be also his compilings have bad faults.

Decidedly Carcode, you are incorrigible. Certainly the compilations "of RGleason have not always been reliable, but it has made great progress. And testing with its versions of plugins helped save time.

That said, bad news for you. I just take the time to:
- Uninstall version IACFleet used yesterday,
- Clean the machine with CCleaner,
- Clean opencpn.ini file everything about IACfleet, (And this is important)
- Download the official version of the IAC Fleet opencpn.org website
- Install this official version,
- Try to download the files directly from Brazil and the USA.

Sorry, but it does not work. IACfleet is unable to back up files. And this because I did not start by declaring the backup folder.

In short, the user Alpha, German, Dutch or French, or ... etc, will be lost at the first attempt to use.

This "horrendous bug" is already fixed by assuming a role of being much smarter than the user and pre-setting some path to save the files. I will not do a new release just because of that though.

Thank you dear friend for your protection from my german friend. Your use of the english language has improved tremendously and I like that word, incorrigible! You should be awarded at least 10 points. I have a reasonably thick skin...
