how to toggle vector/raster

I can see there are multiple little green and purple squares along the bottom. I think those are charts that are applicable to the area I'm looking at. If I start clicking on them, I can get various raster and vector charts for the area. But I don't necessarily want to see a specific chart, I'd like OpenCPN to continue automatically selecting charts based on my zoom and location, but I do want to toggle between raster and vector.

Now that I started clicking on the rectangles, the OpenCPN isn't automatically selecting charts for me.

I didn't see a keyboard shortcut for raster/vector toggle, or a button in the tool bar for it either.

Is there an easy way to switch between raster and vector? How to I re-enable automatic chart view selections after I've clicked on the rectangles?

You are in single chart mode...... Hit the "Q" key, which will take you to the quilted mode. You will see that the oblong chart icons gets rounded corners.
Once you are in quilted mode and click, say a vector chart, OpenCPN will then
only use vector charts when zooming in/out. To change to raster charts, just click a raster chart instead. Quite smart!
An alternative is to create separate chart groups for raster and vector charts, and just load a new chart group when you want to change. This is my preferred way as it gives a cleaner screen.

Thank you Thomas - that pretty much sorts this out. Although, it's almost too much control for this sailor-luddite!

Perhaps a suggestion for a single button to toggle Raster/Vector (also quilted) charts.

Just to add to the options above, consider defining separate chart groups for your favorite area which are titled RNC and ENC and just add the path to the respective charts.
Then use the "Right Click" select "Chart Groups" and pick Chart Group "ENC" or "RNC".
