How to remove opencpn 4.1.178

Hi ll, I want to clean my linux mint laptop up a bit, but I'm stuck with 4.1.178.
I do a sudo apt-get purge opencpn or remove, it removes something but 4.1.178 is still there in the education menu and runs. Doesn't show up in the software manager either. Another remove or purge says it can't find it, though typing opencpn in the console will open 4.1.178.
Any ideas how to uninstall?

Yes, make install.
A bit of time on google came up with Checkinstall which made a .deb using
sudo make; sudo checkinstall

, then I removed the .deb. with sudo dpkg -r build

Seems to have worked.
