I will be heading off to the Solomon Islands and I understand the
charts are not too acurate there, nor is the mobile coverage much good. I am wanting to download a large number of
Google Earth images and store these for offline usage.
I can do the download with SAS.Planet and save this in GeoTiff format but none of the
navigation software will recognise any of the formats that SAS.Planet produces.
I can convert these to KAP but only if they are very small. If i try to convert a large Tiff file with Ge2Kap, imgkap or any other program I try ( windows or Linux) they all crash.
I want to be able to capture whole islands or whole
reefs and not have to do the whole thing in 0.5nm x 0.5nm blocks.
Is there a way?
