The latest on the OpenCPN download site, 3.2 something.

Yes, for the AIS data.
The Holux GPS puck has its own driver for W7, which might not be working properly. Linux just seems to recognise its USB input.

So far only the GPS puck data has come through GPSD at 4800. The AIS data from the SH radio has come through a serial port at 38400.

Re: Help / FAQ

I missed from the log that you are on 3.2.0 still.
The advice from Cagney is important.
There has been gone a lot of work into the COM part since the.

You can install and try in parallel with the latest beta if don't want to upgrade directly.
3.2.2 will free you from some bugs as well, but the beta would be our recommendation.

Please up grade to the current stable version 3.2.2. Even better .... , if it suits you, try the latest beta 3.3.2316. Thomas
Thanks Thomas. I will look up udev.
We are using 3.2.2, the last stable version on the OpenCPN website. I did not want to risk trying a Beta version, but from where can I download it?

Re: Help / FAQ

From the standard download page:
Download OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage

Just scroll down.
And try it in parallel if you would like so.
We believe that the actual beta is even more stable than "the stable", but as this is an issue of confidence....

Good luck

Re: Help / FAQ

On charge la version beta : v 3.3.3.2316 à ce lien Download OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage
Loading the beta: v 03/03/2316 at this link
Tu trouveras ce lien sur la page de téléchargement. C'est tout en bas de la page. Voir la copie d'écran
You'll find this link on the download page. This is at the bottom of the page. See the screenshot
On peut la télécharger en parallèle avec la version officielle, et tu travailles avec une ou avec l'autre... pas les deux ensembles...
It can be downloaded in parallel with the official version, and you work with or the other ... not both together ...
J’ai navigué tout cet été plus de 2.000 milles sur les côtes de Turquie avec les dernières beta, sans problème
I sailed all this summer more than 2,000 miles on the Turkish coast with the latest beta, no problem

Thanks Hubert, I will try it.
So far we have the following workaround procedure having set the inputs as serial ttyUSB 0 and 1:

1. only plug in the GPS and start the computer.
2. start OpenCPN
3. unplug GPS and put it in another USB port.
4. insert the AIS USB feed in the first port.
5. close and restart OpenCPN.

Seems to work every time.

Re: Help / FAQ

Hello.

I like OpenCPN very much. I'm using OpenCPN with a Lenovo Yoga, a laptop that can be used as a tablet. I like to use OpenCPN in tablet mode.

I found a few things that are a little tricky to do and one thing that I can't seem to do in tablet mode: how do I full screen OpenCPN? Is there an alternative to the F11 hotkey?

Thank you.

Re: Help / FAQ

not sure if there's a work-around in OCPN, but i use touchscreens with OCPN and find click n type very usefull for those occasions when i need character input.

Re: Help / FAQ

Currently receiving gps etc nema info through a shipmodul multiplexer. I can see that all the nema sentences are being accepted using the nema debug window. None of the data is being displayed on OpenCPN.

I have used this successfully in the past but it stopped working over the past month.

Has anyone encountered this before or is it a setting I mistakenly changed?

Looking for the next step in troubleshooting this issue based on having accepted sentences with no display of info.

Kyros...
Please get the VDR plugin and record a few seconds of the received stream. Also take a screenshot of your connection settings and post both here.

Re: Help / FAQ

Please disregard my last post.

The solution to the problem was to change a setting in the multiplexer that tagged the nema information thereby outputting a sentence that OpenCPN could not understand.

Thanks for your prompt response Pavel.

It would be a mistake, Windows RT is a totally dead platform.
