GRIB PI - overlay colours

I am trying to optimise the GRIB overlay colours and in the past I seem to remember that there was a palette file somewhere that could be edited in a graphics editor to customise the overlay, but that may have been a completely different application.

To be specific I would like to be able to adjust the overlay colours to highlight certain wind ranges. Ideally a couple of sliders to adjust minimum and maximum wind that the selected palette would optimise. Extra ideally being able define a selection of wind ranges and assign a colour to each range.

Is this currently possible by editing some file?

The file to edit is OpenCPN/plugins/grib_pi/src/GribOverlayFactory.cpp starting around line 713

Would turning off smooth colors in the grib properties help?

Thanks.. I'll download the source and have a look sometime. I was hoping that the palette would be user editable somewhere.

As Baikal said a key would be useful too, but less important for me as the wind barbs tell me what the exact value is.
