What may eat his reason?

The plugins does not figure in a list GRIB.

Thank you for everything:

Re: GRIB icon

The plug-in software has been changed recently and if you are updating from a version more than 3 months old then you must delete your previous plug-in files and replace them with the latest version from opencpn.org.

Re: GRIB icon

I make the setup with a hand then (deb2tgz).
Pragmatism:
I deleted it the /usr/local/lib/opencpn/libdashboard_pi.so file from there, where it is an libgrib_pi.so file.
Dashboard icon does not show at the time of the launch of the opencpn.
I deduce it from this, that on the same one one in a directory libgrib_pi.so would be needed to work.

(Linux kernel: 2.6.33.4-smp, Ver: Slackware 13.37, 32but)

Re: GRIB icon

bzs,
just to start with something - did you enable the plugin in the Toolbox? Could you post your logfile?

Re: GRIB Icon

It looks like Slackware's libz is not compatible with Ubuntu's
You can compile the source yourself - Compiling - Linux | Official OpenCPN Homepage has the guide for a few distros. Slackware's not there as nobody from the developers is using it AFAIK, but the steps will be similar.

Re: GRIB Icon

I tested building OpenCPN on a fresh Slackware 13.37 VM (it remembered me when I started playing with GNU/Linux about 15 years ago. I'd not used Slackware since.

It works fine.

You only need to install wxGTK build. You can find a prebuilt package here:
Index of /~alien/slackbuilds/wxGTK/pkg/13.0
download wxGTK-2.8.10-i486-1alien.tgz
then run
# installpkg wxGTK-2.8.10-i486-1alien.tgz

You can either compile from source, following these instructions Compiling - Linux | Official OpenCPN Homepage (no need to any required programs except wxGTK above)

Or try my build uploaded here:
https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/downloads
opencpn_2.5.0-1_i386.sh

Please test and report

Re: GRIB Icon

I made everything, I put up the newest one (Version 2.5.0 Build 2011-07-26),
but the mistake phenomenon same thing, GRIB there is not an icon.
I am sure that the wxGTK is the wrong one in him, though the 13.37 txz I used packets.

Re: GRIB Icon

Opencpn runs again, but there is an interest.
This appears in background when the mouse gets above the icon row:

"
Error opening coefficient file

(opencpn:3796): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_get_origin: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed
Index file error at entry 304!

Re: GRIB Icon

OK, and which version of OpenCPN are you running now? If any other, try the one compiled on Slackware by SethDart - link a few posts above. To make sure we know from where to start to solve your problem.
