GPS not detected.....again

Well, here I go again;

The gps isn't detected....again.

I'm running OpenCPN Version 3.1.1328 Build 2013-01-28

...on Ubuntu 12.04

What works- xgps shows satellites and indicates a connection at; /dev/ttyUSB0

lsusb shows; Bus 003 Device 004: ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port

What DOES NOT work- the gps isn't detected or show my postion in OpenCPN.

Any idea what to do to fix this?

Below is a screen shot of my settings for the GPS in OpenCPN;

First thing to do is to change your connection to /dev/ttyUSB0, instead of dev/ttyUSB1. There is no way that setup could work. No magic involved.

Ha Ha Ha ..... that's laughing at myself, for not spotting the problem.
That gpsd connects to /dev/ttyUSB0 does not mean that you should do the same. You have to create a new network ->gpsd type of connection, see the wiki for instructions. And.... don't forget to deactivate your /dev/ttyUSB0 connection.
