GPS not detected

Here's what I get when xpgs is entered in Terminal;
(xgps pops up)

the message-


gpsd is not running



This is the message I get when 'gpsd' is entered in terminal;

libgpsd.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What response do you get if you run first this command

sudo apt-get remove libgps19

and then

sudo apt-get install libgps20
