GE Plugin Kills GPS from BU-353

Configuration: Lenovo S 10-3, W7 Starter, BU-353 GPS

When running the GE Plugin the GPS signal is lost after about 5 minutes. The signal stays solid without the GE Plugin

Terry...
Is there anything in the log? The plugin does nothing with the GPS, so I'm a bit confused as of why and how it could influence it...

Hi Pavel,

Log is at http://www.mediafire.com/?h5c1nyagv5vmtps

It might be the OS?

Have had things running without the GE Plugin and it again died! So it's not the GE Plugin .. something else.

Am doing long term running again without the GE plugin and will post results after further testing on another thread.

Thanks ... and you can breathe easier Pavel

Terry...
I would suggest inserting VSPE or GPSGate or something like that between the GPS and OpenCPN in cases like this. It turns out that their Windows-only port handling is still more robust than OpenCPN's.

Thanks Pavel,

I have NavMonPC running 'interference' now and it seems to be stable for the last two hours. Will let it run all night to be sure.

Guess this is more likely to happen with the Windoze 7 versions since haven't had the problem with XP.

Thanks again,

Terry
