Similar request (I think I submitted it several years ago): to store the basic static info on all targets for later reference (days or weeks later). The purpose is to immediately fill in the static info on a target rather than waiting on the static info to be transmitted.
For me, this is a useful feature when cruising in areas which are frequented by a limited number of commercial
vessels (e.g., cruise
ships, inter-island freighters and ferries, etc.) such as the Bahamas
and the Caribbean
This should be done for all targets received and the data purged only if the data table is nearing a size limit, or the target has not returned for an extended period of time (several weeks or a month).
While some of this could be accomplished by the manual "follower" feature, I found the automatic following feature of another PC-based chart program (now deceased) to be useful.
