Falling off the Poles

Has anybody else fallen off the earth in OpenCPN?

If I keep scrolling south or north I will get lost and no return unless I click the Boat/Position icon...first noticed it here reading another post...where all the charts disappear from the chart bar.

It is hard to do as OPCN logarithmically? slows down at 89 degrees...and not many will be sailing there!so it's merely interesting unless it relates to other problems ie: I have also fallen off with corrupt charts but sideways..
