Error when compiling on windows

I have successfully altered the OpenCPN Code to suit my needs on Linux. Now I would like to compile it on/for Windows. But all of my efforts fail, cross compiling on Linux as well as compiling on Windows itself. I have tried following the instructions at Developer's Guide | Official OpenCPN Homepage to the letter.

When compiling on my Win7 machine I keep getting this error:

C:\...\include\cairo/cairo-win32.h(109): fatal error C1189: #error
: Cairo was not compiled with support for the win32 backend [C:\xfer\Qt\ftCPN\build\WXSVG.vcxproj]

I have tried to get a correct version following the instructions at Download - except for building it myself.

Does anybody have a ready to use "cairo.dll" for me?

Go back and re-read the instructions for Windows. The required Windows dlls are in a separate .7z file which you download manually.

I have all these files on my system. Apparently the compiler finds something else. I will go through my system to find the problem.
