ENC Chart Installation

All,
I’m relatively new to OpenCPN, Seaclear user until now. The stable release is installed on the boat laptop for navigation and on a separate laptop the latest beta version to play with the new bells and whistles. No issues until now. I thought I would try using ENC charts in place of RNC charts. Downloaded the charts from NOAA and pointed OCPN to the chart’s location yet all I see is black. I do see my boat location and route that I had created before changing to ENC’s so I believe the charts are there. There are no colored lines or any detail of any kind. I have tried clicking on the "black chart" to no avail. I’m sure I must be missing a step somewhere. I haven’t plugged in and run the GPS yet, if that is what’s needed. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong.

Hi Paul,

please read and follow the instructions on Installing Charts | Official OpenCPN Homepage
Additionally check the 'Force Full Database Rebuild' checkbox after you double-checked choosen the right directory(ies). Remove all non-needed directories.

If you are still having problems please report back.

Thanks Gunther,
I read the directions several times, setting up OCPN as indicated. Forced the data rebuild. I will perform again to be sure when I get home. One thing that may be a problem is that each group of charts is in it's own folder, so I have ~23 folders listed in the folders in the "ADD" list.

Got it to work!! Not sure what the problem was. Reinstalled OCPN. Very nice with the ENC's
