Re: Drag an Entire Route

Bonjour Jean Paul,

I have dedicated some time this weekend to a new program for Windows:
"ChartWork - SAR search paterns" that generate a GPX file for OpenCPN or Google Earth.

I hope this week it will be finished!!!

Re: Drag an Entire Route

I have great respect for the work of the people of the SAR.

"ChartWork - SAR search patterns" is available for download at my Web page.
See the section: "What is New?" 11/06/2012

Now I must update the OpenCPN User Manual and test it with OpenCPN 3.0 release.
Comments and requests for improvement are welcome!

Best regards!

Re: Drag an Entire Route

salut Andres,
Your SAR program is working like a charm!!

There's only one minor thing for the PSP...
Is it possible to do another one for 1 boat? with the CSP (commence search point) at the datum?
In fact we never work with 2 boats ...
I will send you an image of the desired pattern on your mail now...
One more, thank you for that great tool !
Hasta luego

Re: Drag an Entire Route

Hello Andres,
For the expanded square and parallel is it possible to have a function in order to change the number of legs?
It would be great to cover a wider area when we use small track spaces.
Best regards

Re: Drag an Entire Route

Parallel Search Pattern for 1 ship and n legs
Notice that a leg is defined as in PSP 1.png (for easy programing).
Does it meet SAR´s needs?

Re: Drag an Entire Route

Chart Work - SAR search patterns

Search Pattern:
  1. Expanding Square
  2. Sector Search
  3. Parallel Search for one ship
  4. Parallel Search for two ships

Orientation as an input to takes into account tide, wind and drift.
Number of legs and its length may be configurable.
