Does anyone mind loosing Ctrl-Z zoom?

Folks, I want to take some small steps to providing Undo features in O.

A full featured undo is not really feasible, but we can do some rather simple things that help quite a bit. The obvious first thing is to be able to undo an accidental drag of a waypoint.

The problem is the Ctrl-Z key is already assigned to do a zoom. We have zoom on +/-, the scroll wheel, the toolbar and even pinch-to-zoom if you have multitouch. And Ctrl-Z as undo is probably one of the most standard key assignments in the entire computer industry.

So unless someone comes up with a really good argument why we should keep it being zoom I will be changing it to become Undo.

Anyone?

I never use CTRL+Z as zoom. Yes, my vote is to make it agree with the standard "Undo" keyboard shortcut....

I personally never use Cntl-Z to zoom. An undo Cntl-Z would be great but I doubt I would use it either unless it was in a context menu that listed what was about to be undone.

Of course it will be in the context menu. There is even space for it now ;-)

Re: Does anyone mind loosing Ctrl-Z zoom?

The difference (at least on my computers) between cntl-Z and the other possibilities to zoom in (zoom on +/-, the scroll wheel, the toolbar) is that cntl-Z zooms in in little steps and the other ways zoom in either with a factor 2 or zoom out by 1/2.
Any possibility to make the zooming steps of e.g. the scroll wheel smaller?

Yup, just hold down Ctrl while scroll-wheeling or pressing +/-

Re: Does anyone mind loosing Ctrl-Z zoom?

OK, all say aye so far... I'm doing it.

The initial implementation will support 10 steps undo/redo of:

Mark create
Individual Mark delete (not delete from route)
Mark move (including marks in routes)

Ctrl-Z = Undo
Ctrl-Y = Redo

The type of undo/redo possible is displayed in context menu.
