DistGreatCircle vs Vincenty

Hi Guys,

If Vincenty's formula is more precise that Great Circle distance calculations, why do we still use DistGreatCircle function from georef.cpp more often that GreatCircleDistBear function from geodesic.cpp?

And am I right that DistanceBearingMercator function from georef.cpp calculates the rhumb line distances?

Probably because you still did not send a patch to change it and it's actually not important in most of the cases at all IMHO.
DistanceBearingMercator calculates the rhumb line distance as you say.
