Hi everyone
I have a problem with loading a S63 map into
openCPN (this one:
https://chartworld.com/shop/search?keyword=1I01001).
I followed the tutorials until the point where it imports cell permits from the txt file. This succeeded after running for 20 hours (is that normal?).
Then I hit "Import Charts/Updates..." and chose the appropriate folder. Afterwards it runs for a few hours but then it suddenly stops. The
opencpn.log shows following error line:
Code:
12:47:01 AM: Error: Can't create dialog using memory template (error 1158: der aktuelle Prozess verwendet alle Handles der zulässigen Höchstanzahl für Window Managerobjekte.)
(rough translation: "the
current process uses the maximum allowed handles for windows manager objects"). I think it Sounds like there may be a memory leak in the S63
plugin.
I had to force quit the application using the task manager because the user interface became completely unresponsive.
Now, when I restart the application and hit again "Import Charts/Updates...", after a few seconds the whole application just terminates without any error message.
I tried to manually delete the content of the "C:\ProgramData\opencpn\s63\s63SENC" folder and retry the
import but again it stops after a few hours with the same memory error message.
Additional info: I'm running openCPN 4.8.4 on windows 10 X64. My
laptop has 8GB memory and a 2.4GHz dual
core CPU.
Does anyone know a workaround or solution to solve this problem?
