crash opencpn 4.4.0 on mac

Hi,
i've just installed the latest version of OpenCpn (4.4.0) on my Mac (10.11.6)
Every time i want to open the "user interface" in the "option" menu, OpenCpn crashes and shuts down.
anybody has an idea?

You can tell us how you have "installed" OpenCPN on your Mac?
OpenCPN does not come with an installer.
If you have started it out of the dmg box you will have problems of course.

Re: crash opencpn 4.4.0 on mac

It should drag to a folder called "Applications". I don't know a folder "programs" in El Capitan.
Check if you have a file ~/Library/Preferences/opencpn/opencpn.ini
If yes, delete it.

Rob...
Open the terminal and issue the following command:
Code:
rm ~/Library/Preferences/opencpn/opencpn.ini
and hit Enter
Then start OpenCPN
If it keeps crashing, we would like to see the crash trace produced by OS X when the application closes.

it seems i cannot send you the complete file cause it is bigger than 20000 characters.
Is it possible to send it via email?
