Converting Png to Svg for O Icons

This does not look to hard to do, in fact I used several convertors on line but they have a limit of 2 images.

I did a search on the opencpn program directory for PNG.
Found a bunch of Icon Images!

The next step is to copy them to some directory and convert them, but with what?

Vector Magic gets pretty good reviews, but it is not free. We need a batch converter really....Pricing - Vector Magic The desktop is expensive and the online one might be fine.. It is $8.

I think this one is free.

Also this one
https://inkscape.org/en/

If you want to help out the Opencpn effort, you could convert all the OpenCPN Icons PNG into svg format, and put them in the appropriate directories. I think I would use Inkscape as it looks like the main Opensource effort.

Pavel has asked for someone to do this.
Thanks

Irfanview will do that for free and with good quality - you need to install the pluguns package

Re: Converting Png to Svg for O Icons

Gilletarom,

Inkscape has a tool for converting raster tp vector or png tp svg:
shift-alt-b
Tutorial here:
https://inkscape.org/de/doc/tracing/...l-tracing.html

but: don´t expect miracles. The result will give shapes and proportions but most probably the quicker way is to draw the icon. See below.

Anyhow I would expect that a big number of icons have been designed as vector and then converted to png.
