Compiling Under PowerPC - Missed libgps19

Hi,
I am trying to install opencpn under ubuntu 9.10 running on a ibook 900 Mhz G3 powerpc.
I can not find libgps19 for this processor, just for amd and intel.
I think the only way will be compile the library under my system, but I can not find the source for this library.
Does anybody know a link to find it? I know it is part of gpsd but where exactly is the place?
Regards
Adolfo

Hi,

libgps is included in package gpsd:
GPSd — Put your GPS on the net!

Unfortunately Ubuntu does not ship ppc builds for this pachage:
Ubuntu -- Package Search Results -- gpsd
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?su...words=libgps19

gpsd is optional, OpenCPN can talk directly with your GPS. You may not need gpsd to get it working, depends on your needs.

Regards

Hi
Well, thank you for the answer. Because I found more other problems I decided to compile from source each component like gpsd, cmake and others.
First 2 are already compiled using lasst version. Now I have other error messages. I will try to resolve them.
I do not know how interesting could be powerpc-ubuntu for this project, and the noise I could generate. Just let me know.
Regards,
Adolfo

Well, I reach a street without exit for me.
[ 9%] Building CXX object CMakeFiles/S57ENC.dir/src/s52plib.cpp.o
/home/adolfo/opencpn/src/s52plib.cpp: In member function ‘int s52plib::dda_tri(wxPoint*, S52color*, render_canvas_parms*, render_canvas_parms*)’:
/home/adolfo/opencpn/src/s52plib.cpp:5436: error: impossible constraint in ‘asm’
make[2]: *** [CMakeFiles/S57ENC.dir/src/s52plib.cpp.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/S57ENC.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

It means s52plib.cpp has an assembler routine which is for intel, and I am unable to translate this to powerpc assembler.

If anybody in the developer team can help me I could continue, but it needs more work to avoid asm calls and resolve in pure C.

OK and thank you Pavel.
Yes, I did not see that similar post. Dave answered to the other and could be a good improvement to be more portable the full system. I am sorry but I can not help on this.
I will keep waiting if Dave can correct this.
Thank you all.
