Re: Climatology

Dashboard wasn't enabled as my desktop doesn't have GPS. After enabling it loads fine.
The complains I get are:
13:19:59 EET: PlugInManager searching for PlugIns in location /usr/lib64/opencpn
13:19:59 EET: PlugInManager: Loading PlugIn: /usr/lib64/opencpn/libsquiddio_pi.so
13:19:59 EET: Error: libbz2.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
13:20:09 EET: PlugInManager: Cannot load library: /usr/lib64/opencpn/libsquiddio_pi.so
13:20:09 EET: PlugInManager: Loading PlugIn: /usr/lib64/opencpn/libweatherfax_pi18_v06_amd64_pi.so
13:20:09 EET: Error: /usr/lib64/opencpn/libweatherfax_pi18_v06_amd64_pi.so: ELF load command past end of file
13:20:09 EET: PlugInManager: Cannot load library: /usr/lib64/opencpn/libweatherfax_pi18_v06_amd64_pi.so

The content of my plugin directory is:
ls /usr/lib64/opencpn/
libdashboard_pi.so libgrib_pi.so libsquiddio_pi.so libweatherfax_pi18_v06_amd64_pi.so

Is the anything else that I could do to help?

I've packaged climatology plugin in my jeo repo.
You can install with:
# yum install opencpn-plugin-climatology

Are you interested in any other plugins? I can try to package them into my repo.

Enjoy!

Re: Climatology

Thanks I will try right away!
libsquiddio_pi.so and libweatherfax_pi18_v06_amd64_pi.so would be interesting.

After first try I get:
jeo/20/x86_64/primary_db FAILED :--:-- ETA
http://je.onfray.fr/repo/fedora/20/x...ry.sqlite.bz2: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404 - Not Found
Trying other mirror.

And sure WMM, although I still don't get it, a lot of people must have their ECS set to magnetic
FWIW, I'm migrating *all* the plugins that run on Linux to the Launchpad PPA for Ubuntu/Debian and will retire the direct DEB downloads by the end of the week. I will also remove the RPMs until a) I can get a compatible builder platform set up or b) you save me a) and add them to the repo...
The naming scheme on launchpad will be exactly the same (opencpn-plugin-XXX)

Probably outdated cache. Can you try again?
If still in error, you may run
Code:
# yum clean metadata
and try again.

opencpn-plugin-wmm built for all arch I support (Fedora 19, 20 & 21 for both i386 & x86_64 and EPEL 6 & 7 x86_64)
opencpn-plugin-weatherfax building right now
then I'll package squiddio and chartmanager, others will follow upon request.

I've started packaging plugins. Several will probably need to be slightly patched but I'll do my best ASAP. You can stop handling RPMs, I'll take it over if you agree ;-)

Best regards,
Jean-Eudes

There is a hole in the ceiling I created with my head when I jumped of happiness
Just one thing - if you will be packaging weather_routing, please name the package without the underscore (opencpn-plugin-weatherrouting or opencpn-plugin-weather-routing) - I can't use it in the DEB package name to avoid problems with Launchpad tools and would like to stay consistent between distros...

Many thanks

Re: Climatology

Ok, here's the list as of this morning:
- opencpn-plugin-wmm 1.0
- opencpn-plugin-weatherfax 1.3
- opencpn-plugin-squiddio 0.4
- opencpn-plugin-chartdldr 0.4

Now I'm playing with s63_pi but it requires some changes as it only do .deb packages.

Stay tuned!

Re: Climatology

SethDart,

when playing with the S-63 PI can you run as well the fingerprinter at your Fedora systems and drop us the resulting file at info@o-charts.org in order to check if we are getting the correct information for the licensing stuff?

Thanks

Hubert

Re: Climatology

I cleaned the metadata, but I am still geting:
jeo/20/x86_64/primary_db FAILED
http://je.onfray.fr/repo/fedora/20/x...ry.sqlite.bz2: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404 - Not Found
Trying other mirror.
I will download the RPM manually and try it out.

dd06a6750beda68edf7ea6123744b31ec09df89dfb283e296a fcc94df5a101ca-primary.sqlite.bz2 really seems to be missing from the repo.

Manually installed Climatology is working OK. Climatology data seems to be avoiding Finland.

This metadata was valid two days ago. But the repo was updated several times and it has changed since. Can you try:
Code:
yum clean cache
or even
Code:
yum clean all
Please report.

Thanks,
Jean-Eudes

Re: Climatology

Even after
yum clean dbcache or yum clean all
yum is missing dd06a6750beda68edf7ea6123744b31ec09df89dfb283e296a fcc94df5a101ca-primary.sqlite.bz2
When browsing with Firefox to Index of /repo/fedora/20/x86_64/repodata
I could not see any file starting with dd...

It's out of purpose to explain how yum works but this file was replaced by a newer one with another filename. (the filename is the sha256 checksum of the db)

Right now, it's bef0f720f0b67250bfc9870d51e4d6e8cd0f28f06da83a226b b1d2da294dbbf2-primary.sqlite.bz2
When the repo is updated with a new package, a new file will be created.
That's the way it works.

You can have this error temporarily if the repo was updated recently. Then you've a repomd.xml listing an outdated primary_db that's replaced since. When yum notice repomd.xml is updated, it'll download the new version and find the correct primary_db.

You can cleanup /var/cache/yum/x86_64/20/jeo if you want to force it.

Re: Climatology

rm -f /var/cache/yum/x86_64/20/jeo/*
yum update
...
dd06a6750beda68edf7ea6123744b31ec09df89dfb283e296a fcc94df5a101ca-primary.sqlite.bz2 missing.
It seems something is still pointing to the old file.
