Hi David,

I had a similar problem with Opera.
Workaround was to right click and download link content.
Though in my case it downloads as a .htm by default. I have to force to download as nnnnn.gpx
Then it works correctly.

Perhaps Pavel has an idea what happens here.

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

wd,
In your browser ,can't you just right-click the link and choose "Save As"?It should just download as a ".gpx" file to where you tell it to and then you can open the gpx with OpenCPN's route-manager...
Same way you'd download one of the kaps.

in Firefox, that is...I see that you have that browser too

David...
Right click the link and do "Save as..." The browsers are trying to be a bit smarter than us

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

...this might have been simpler with just Marks for the corners instead of a route offered...then we could just place more marks and join them up in order...
AS it is,it seems simplest to add marks for the "outsets", then make a totally new route that uses the existing waypoints from the downloaded gpx... Oh and to tidy up the gpx so the lat/longs agree as to logical"squareness".

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

Happy,

perhaps I didn't get you correctly:

the idea is to use the "contour route", "insert waypoints"--> four if the extension is square and drag those with the mouse to fit them onto the four corners of the indent/extension.
And then Pavel just uses this modified track to generate the quilting mask for the chart.

Happy...
I personally start with inserting the waypoints for the to-be bends on the existing route - like that they are placed correctly with very little effort, then adding the new ones between them and then moving the new ones to the desired location.
Just the waypoints have one serious disadvantage - for the more complicated cases it would start to be non-trivial to compute the right order...
With the PLY points we don't have to be as exact as with the calibration points - they have no influence on the quality of the calibration at all.

81327, PLY:s done, kap and gpx files updated and OK, but the status on the website is still the same. The only thing different with this chart is that it's a Tmerc.

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

Thomas...
the backend preserves the chart status for some of them (not to throw away whether the chart has insets etc.) For this case it really did not make sense, as the chart was plain rectangular "with text on the water". From now on the rectangular charts will change status when the polygon is defined.

Maybe you have also noticed that generating the KAPs takes very long - there was another very heavy job running on the server with higher priority, now stopped so that we should handle chart generation without problems.

Right you are!...much easier,for sure..Gee,I didn't think you'd ever stoop to ClicknDrag,Nohal.I figured you'd be doing this on a console,from memory,like Thomas is ...

...well,I'm squaring them up anyways...it's pretty easy to just copy and paste from one waypoint dialogue to another as I go along...I have OpenCPN set up as "Lock Waypoints Unless Dialogue is Visible" ,so I have to open the dialogues to drag the points anyways....

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

Will the charts with "bump-outs" be included in the quilt? Are there any side-effects to doing this? Also I saw at least 1 chart with a non rectangular bump out.

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

As far I have seen you can define arbitrary paths that will act as a mask for quilting.

Funny will be rounded corners and stuff like this.

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

This afternoon I did the Region4 "need additional PLYs".

In that context I tested the "mask off text and other disturbing stuff on water". 43263 and 43264.

43082 is warped.
43249 shows some different shorelines with respect to CM93. Any Norwegian here to have a look?
43264 is off lat/lon grid. Calibration error?

43264, no surprise. Check the datum note and the DTM values.

Re: Charts II: NGA - 2700 Charts

Question is what to do with these charts.

Special bucket?
