1. Diffferent NZ22, md5sum has changed
2. 404 error on wgetting NZ223F & NZ224F (NZ223 and NZ224 are present however)
3. Different NZ4265, md5sum has changed
4. Different NZ4314, md5sum has changed

Thanks again,

OK. Released new CHARTCAL V15 correcting problems discovered by Manimaul. Main fact was the release of NTM (notice to mariners) #218/2009 affecting several charts. In fact new charts have been relesed on NZ server the 1st of december.

1. Diffferent NZ22, md5sum has changed
Applied NTM 218/2009

2. 404 error on wgetting NZ223F & NZ224F (NZ223 and NZ224 are present however)
To NZ223F was applied NTM 218/2009. Changed also file name on server from NZ223F.tif to NZ223.tif
For NZ224F only changed file name on server from NZ224F.tif to NZ224.tif

3. Different NZ4265, md5sum has changed
There was an error in the chartcal (nz4256 instead of nz4265)

4. Different NZ4314, md5sum has changed
There was an error in the chartcal (wrong md5sum)

Moreover the NTM 218/2009 affected charts # NZ14605, NZ14631, NZ14638. The new chartcal V15 refers to the new charts (so delete old tif files from Img folder and rebuild the 3 maps above)

Many thanks Manimaul for your help.

Ciao, Marco.

Using ENC Charts

I have a question.
I've downloaded ENC charts form the Dutch Hydrographic Service. They open perfect in OpenCPN only one cell at the time no matter the zoom level. I have to move the mouse to the area of an adjacent cell and select it (click) the selected cell displays correct and the previous cell gray’s out. I don’t have this with the CM93 chart database.

Is this a problem of the ECN charts or is it me, any clue?

Thanx
Bart

No problems. That is how it currently works.

Chart quilting is on the feature request list. Not sure about when that will happen, though. Current feature being worked on is GRIB weather file support.

This post might be completely redundant, but I just stumbled across a Raster-to-BSB program, so thought I'd pass it on, just in case ....
Atelier cartographique multiplateforme : RasterChart2BSB
Appears not to be a Windows program, so I can't try it.

I think someone mentioned it before but what is required in the header of a tif2bsb conversion? I would like to use my charts also in other .kap compatible nav progs.

OpenSeaMaps

Leo/Dave...

That sounds great. Would it be possible to incorporate in OpenCPN?

Regards

I'm familiar with the project, thanks for advertising it here.

"The data scheme applies to the international norm IHO-S-57, as published by the IHO. This allows a simple exchange of data with other ECDIS-Applications."

Perhaps user changes could be contributed back via the OpenSeaMaps database? There has been some cosmological speculation on the possibility of massively collaborative chart-making..

First OpenSeaMap in .kap (.bsb) format?

Would of course be a lot easier if OpenCPN could import the OpenSeaMap's database directly.

All our Charts normaly are vector Charts. Nearly s-57 but not 100%. OSeaM has 18 Zoom steps. From each of 18 steps we can produce bitmap(png) Charts for use with OziExplorer. These can we directly convert to Seaclear WCI format. If you do this way there is no chartdir created. So your way with mc2bsbh is not going. I look for a way to create BSB/KAP Charts direct.

Couldn't you extract it in a vector format? OpenCPN is compatible with the US NOAA vectors and the proprietary C-MAP vector formats..
