What is your OS? Do you use OpenGL on or off?

Re: Chart Status Bar Bug

Running windows 10. I won't be in front of it for a while, so I may have some of the text wrong, but here's how it's configured.

I start OpenCPN with the normal option, not the "No Open GL" option.

But, somewhere in the preferences/settings, there's a checkbox for Open GL and that's UN-CHECKED for me.

Does that answer it?

Yes. If you check that box then I think the problem will go away. At least it does for me.

Yes, I can confirm it works with that box checked. Thanks!

Re: Chart Status Bar Bug

Sorry for the delay, I was out to sea . I'll be home for 10 days before we head to the Bahamas.

Imagine my surprise when I get home and my wife says "How come the chart icons turn black sometimes?" Eureka! The problem is not with the Win Creator edition, nor my Surface, nor the fact that I have a bazillion charts. (She has only the east coast of Florida)

The problem occurs with OpenGL enabled and the touch interface enabled. Not sure what triggers it then - vector charts? Turn off touch, reboot, and all is good again.

Cheers,

Dave

Re: Chart Status Bar Bug

Dave,

I think the combination that causes black buttons is OpenGL off and touch mode on.

OpenGL off and touch mode on together has its own issues, but either way - touch is the killer. She doesn't know enough to switch OpenGL back and forth - and she definitely had OpenGL set to on and touch mode set to on when I came home.
