Chart moving during measurements!

Good day to all. Whilst having sailed for years I've never cruised to any degree so have commenced relearning about charting et al. The paperless office is yet to appear but the paperless chartroom is obviously here to stay.

I've downloaded OpenCPN and some charts of the South Pacific to start tinkering. I've found one frustrating aspect of the software and that is when I try to measure between two points (say left to right) the cursor goes to the destination but then the chart itself moves from right to left and I can't get a measurement. I've tried this on two Macs with the same outcome. Any illuminations?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Alex,

May I ask you to be more precise on the context (OpenCPN version ?, raster/vectorial charts ?)

As suggested you only try on Mac

Thanks

Re: Chart moving during measurements!

Alex,

Did you left-click once to set the start point of the measument?
If I keep the left mouse button pressed the startpoint will move to the
mousepointer continuously, thus moving the chart all the time.
