Thanks, everyone, for your work helping to track this down and eliminate the problem. I've been living with it by resizing the window for a couple of years. But one thing I haven't been able to do is launch O in fullscreen mode, because there was no easy way to resize the window to restore the buttons (note I'm running on a tablet, so no keyboard). With this fix, launching with the -fullscreen option will now provide a fully functional program.
