Cannot view AIS Target Info.

Just installed the current version of OpenCPN on a brand new tablet running Windows 10. All working including GPS and AIS (Daisy) but I cannot read the 'AIS Target Info.' in the box found by right clicking a target....because the box is blacked out.

The information is there because by changing the daylight settings to dusk or night the box info. becomes visible.

However this is pretty inconvenient for daytime on the water.

I have tried all OpenCPN setting menus that I can find trying to solve this - to no avail and have tried reinstalling the program.

Anyone else run into this problem? Solutions and ideas appreciated.

Hello Robpat, how did you connect your AIS receiver with tablet, USB or WiFi?

I connect the AIS via a standard USB.

Maybe I should add that the 'AIS Target List' box is readable with no

problem...just the 'AIS Target Info' box is unreadable in daytime mode.

Another thing that may be useful is that I use the same GIS unit and AIS Daisy unit on another laptop running Vista and an earlier version of Open CPN with no problem.

To me this implies that there may be an be a problem with either the version of OpenCPN on the tablet, or maybe something with Windows 10 on the tablet??

I found a solution. Changed the personalization settings in Windows 10 from white text on black background the regular black text on white background. Exactly how I did it I could not repeat- the menus and choices W10 seem odd..anyways I did it and now the boxes in Open CPN are readable....Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have the same problem, but on a Linux computer; I have a "dark" colour theme and the text in the AIS target popup is impossible to read due to being black on a dark grey background. I've tried changing the colour setting in OpenCPN's User Interface settings, but while this works fine for changing the colour of the text in the Object Query popup, the AISTargetQuery colour is ignored.

I see the same problem. If you would add the bug to the Flyspray tracker, we will be sure to get it fixed for the next release.

Just checked to see if the problem has been resolved (i.e. viewing AIS target information whilst Windows 10 is in 'dark mode') and appears not to be fixed yet. How often are the new releases of Open CPN?
