C-MAP NT+/PC charts and OCPN

Can these charts be used with OCPN ?
I already have the world CM93 package and have managed to download a few S63 ENCs but had problems with them appearing to time out (still to be investigated when back on the boat)
I was wondering if the C-MAP NT+ chart folio (M-EM-C104.23) for my cruising area (Eastern Med) would work ?
Thanks
Steve

No, these charts can't be used under OCPN. These are private, encrypted chart formats and would need a special plug-in from C-MAP/Jeppesen.

S-63 charts do not time out. Once the licensing period ends you will just not get updates any longer.
Depending on your PC it is possible though that for example a new version of the operating system (as Windows10) will invalidate the InstallPermit. Then you can just create a new one and continue using the charts.

Wow that was quick !
Thanks Hubert - I'll guess I'll persevere with S63 in that case.
Yes you've previously told me about the S63 time out issue and I'm frustrated that my charts are on my Nav computer which is 2000 miles away.

Incidently can my S63 charts/permits be transferred to a new computer? ie a Raspbian/Raspberry Pi2 installation?

Steve...

the ARMhf (and hence the RasPi) are on the ToDo list since a while and hopefully after launching 4.2 we can finally attack this issue.
Answer: not yet
But when it gets ready and you have still InstallPermits left then you will be able to move the charts.
