BSB4 Woes

Delighted to learn that OpenCPN now supports BSB4 encrypted charts (even if I'm late to the party in finding out). I have a fresh install of 3.2.0 and a fresh install of CHS Newfoundland charts. I downloaded the BSB4 .dll, have been trying to set it up to display the charts, and so far, no go.

First I copied the .dll into the OpenCPN plugins folder, activated the plugin, and then added the CHS chart folder. Then I forced a full database rebuild and restarted OpenCPN. According to the manual this should do the job, but so far no luck. I somewhat ashamedly throw myself on the mercy of the court.

Re: BSB4 Woes

The default install location for the CHS charts is \\chartkit and within that directory there is a sub-directory called .\encryption. I had to explicitly include that sub-directory to get the plugin to work for me.

Re: BSB4 Woes

Thanks for the response. I believe I encountered your suggestion while searching the forums earlier. I tried it at the time but still had the same issue. Subsequently I again reloaded the application, the charts, etc., and carefully reread the manual. This time the gods looked with favor on my efforts and now the encrypted charts display properly in 3.2.0. Case closed (I hope).
