BSB Chart Display Issue (3.0.2)

Hi,

I received some charts from a friend (in BSB format), that work fine on his copy of OpenCPN, but not on my PC. We are both running 3.0.2.

I have attached some screen shots of what happens. One shot viewing CM93, and two shots viewing the BSB chart.

When I try to move the screen with the arrow keys, the 3rd picture is the result. Another strange thing is the MyShip icon turns Grey when viewing the BSB charts, although the GPS signal has not changed and I confirmed NMEA data was still streaming.

However, if I zoom out, I see the red outlines of all the charts, where I would expect them to be. But once zoomed in to actually display a chart, things don't display correctly.

I have tried with and without OpenGL, no difference in behavior.

The log file, please remove the .xls extension as I added that to upload the log.

If anyone has some thoughts, that would be great.

Re: BSB Chart Display Issue (3.0.2)

The charts you are using are not properly converted and geo-referenced.
No projection is stated for the charts for example. That's why O is complaining about your Bauhaus Charts. This is clearly stated in the log file.
Read more here FAQ | Official OpenCPN Homepage 4:th bullet, for more information.

You may get a better display by trying single mode instead of quilting.
The best is however to correct the faulty chart kap header, assuming that the original chart picture isn't warped.
Check the Chart Conversion Manual | Official OpenCPN Homepage.

Thanks for the references. I will look into further and try to correct the issues in the KAP files.

I suppose, based on the FAQ I read, that the person that they "work" for is maybe using 3.0.0 and not 3.0.2 as stated.

Thanks again.
