Hakan...

Thanks for the catch. This is a real bug in github master. It happens when the correct printed object or place name is less than 6 characters. Simple fix, and will be in github master very soon.

Dave..
And thanks for the fix. I pulled a new update an hour ago and now for example the name "Ven" is correct. Very good.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

TCP input and output on same ip / port

First post so sorry if this has been asked before.

Trying to connect to opencpn with TCP for input and output on same ip and port, input being AIS data and output being autopilot. (due to a specific use)

This outputs fine but doesn't read the input.... i've looked in the code and it seems to suggest that you can only have a tcp connection that is either input or output but not both (a comment states this but also the code suggests this, OnServerSocketEvent only allows a connection). Can someone confirm this?

Also if this is the case, is this going to be modified in the future?

Many Thanks

fdart...
Yes. And of course a patch to change it is welcome. as well as one allowing multiple clients on the same port.

Ver 3.3.424 git pull from May 30, hang report
> Win32,XP no OPENGL 1 G memory.
> When on my navigation laptop I try to open the route handling meny OCPN hangs or shall I call it wait for the hour glass. I have tried to be patient but after 30 minutes no change so I've to force OCPN down. It only affects OCPN not the rest of the PC system.
> It happens when using 3.3.424 but not on 3.2.2, everything else is equal. There are some rather extensive tracks witch could cause the hang-up?

If you want more data please revert.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Hakan...

The apparent hang is indeed caused by the large tracks in the navobj.xml file.
Clearly, there is more work to be done with large track support. We are discussing some related design issues on this topic, so the code is not yet complete.

If you need to see this track in 3.3.424, try to load it from a layer, and report results here. I think this will be much faster.

Thanks
Dave

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Dave..
Ok, thanks. A few comments:
I see the tracks all the time no problem. The program runs fine, and open and close, with the track growing since close to two month. And there are some older visible tracks as well. It don't seem to disturb at all. It is only when I try to open the route window it hangs. And, again, there is a difference from 3.2.2. Using that version I can open the route window and make a copy or edit the track.

Probably not a big deal and could be related to the not having any real instruments connected but...

In Dashboard the "clock" title is being over written or truncated somehow. Instead of "Clock" it says "Suock" with a defined white line between the u and o. See attached.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

On mine the CLOCK is OK and in UTC. Windows 7, as I said previously the only problem I found with version 3.3.604 is the disappearing name of the route that I did created.
Bye

Bye
I am using W7 Ultimate and do not have a 'diappearing name'. When I create a route and open the Properties, I enter a name for the route. (I also rename the waypoints so they will be unique and not duplicate waypoints in other routes).

Exporting the route to a saved location automatically includes the name of the route I have given it.

If I delete the route from the screen and re-import it the route has the originally given name.

Is this what you are doing?
